The Power Of Environment

How much power does your environment have on the development of skill, talent and over all performance? It goes back to the age old question of “Nature vs Nurture” or “Genetics vs. Environment.’

Our interests and pursuits are largely dictated by our genetics. We naturally gravitate to things that we are good at and we enjoy doing and while our genetics play a major roll, if you are not in the right environment, at the right time, and with the right support, there is little to no chance of success.

This week, we investigate the power of environment and we look at one of the greatest human development experiments in history: The Polgar Sisters. I am joined by Judit Polgar, the youngest of the famed Polgar Sisters, who took on and dominated the chess world. We will discuss her father, Lazlo Polgar, his research, and how Judit and her sisters turned out to be the star players in what is considered to be the greatest talent development experiment ever.
